My diagnosis came as surprise as I am young (in my 30s) and no one in my family has history of RA. Dr. Shah told me I most likely have RA even BEFORE I went to my Primary care doctor. My PCP and then the Rheumatologist confirmed the diagnosis eventually, with a blood test. I was having some on and off, often debilitating wrist pain for one month.  Initially I thought it might be sprain or strain because it was only in one wrist and then in second, but one night I woke up with excruciating shoulder pain and contacted Dr. Shah.  Immediately she started me on an herbal formulation and gave me food tips of what to eat and what to avoid. She also recommended that I get examined by my PCP and a Rheumatologist. The Rheumatologist wanted to start me on Methotrexate, but I read about the drug's side effects and was scared.  By that time, I was already experiencing complete relief with the Ayurveda protocol. Dr. Shah suggested that since I was experiencing relief already, I could continue to follow the Ayurveda protocol and food guidelines and keep the Methotrexate and the pain killer as stand by, in case of a flare up.

Your diagnosis (diagnoses): Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

Main symptoms you were experiencing:

Pain and stiffness in both the wrists and occasionally shoulder, pain being debilitating at times.

Describe your experience with Shah, Doctor of Ayurveda, in your own words (add more pages if needed):

Magic.  As far as I read about Rheumatoid arthritis, people who suffers from the disease are only able to control the disease by increasing the drug dosages, which I do not want to.  With proper food guidelines and natural remedies suggested by Dr. Shah, I am able to manage my symptoms very well.

Summary of the key benefits you have experienced (you can share in a bulleted form if you like):

Flare ups of symptoms stopped after starting Ayurveda herbs and food guidelines suggested by Dr. Shah. In fact, I am experiencing an overall wellbeing, which I did not feel before.

What are a few things that you think characterize a consult with Shah?

Mental peace because as soon as I came to know about my disease, was very scared and I know there is no cure for rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Shah took time to reassure me, helped me shift my focus from fear to confidence and guided me to take charge of my own wellbeing. She is empathetic and compassionate in her approach. I trust her immensely and am feeling fortunate to have found her at the right time.

Would you recommend Shah to a friend? Why?

Yes, already did to so many.  Because in allopathy, you can only get medication for the disease, not solution of your disease.

Sonal Parikh (MA, USA) - Rheumatoid Arthritis

Dr. Shah was great. She has a very personable demeanor. Even online she could tell where I could benefit. She has a very calming voice and always listens and then promptly follows up. She followed up promptly with email and suggestions. I don’t take my medication as often. I am now down to taking it 4 times a week instead of 7. The diet has made a big difference in my GI system. I can feel the difference when I am away and have to eat outside. I feel calmer by working on myself more and taking care of my diet and health. Some of the supplements have helped my son who also has ADHD.

Your diagnosis (diagnoses):
ADHD, Anxiety

I have been using Concerta and Prozac for anxiety and ADHD.

Main symptoms you were experiencing:

What are a few things that you think characterize a consult with Shah?
It is very important to be open and honest with Dr. Shah and really let her know what is going on. She is very good at reading a person and prescribing herbs accordingly.

Would you recommend Shah to a friend? Why?
Yes, I would definitely recommend her. She really listens and doesn’t hurry the client through the process. She is very caring and genuinely wants to help. She follows up regularly to see how things are going.

Happy Client (MA, USA) - ADHD, Anxiety

Dr. Shah is amazing, in just 15 days she solved my daughter's eating problem.  Before meeting Dr. Shah, she would just not open her mouth to eat anything, even if it was her favorite food.  She would eat one or two bites and that too with lot of struggle.  Her eczema was getting worse too, but with Dr. Shah’s herbs and other recommendations, she is a self-feeding baby now and eczema is also a lot better and continues to improve.  Dr. Shah responds to my call even if it is late night whereas it can take up to 2 months to even see a regular doctor.

Your diagnosis (diagnoses):

Eating problem and eczema

A brief history of your illness(es) along with duration and all you had tried before seeing Shah:

This is for my 1-½ year old daughter. She was barely eating, was lagging behind her growth milestones and was also suffering from bad eczema.  We had tried everything which her pediatrician recommended, but nothing worked.  She just did not want to eat and her eczema was getting worse day by day.

Main symptoms you were experiencing:

Eczema and not gaining weight since she was not eating.

Sonal Parikh (MA, USA)-child - GI issues, Eczema

'Upon first meeting Dr. Shah, I was immediately put at ease, not an easy task given the current restrictions with Covid, mask wearing, face shield. She was very attentive, thorough, and organized. After taking my pulse, looking at my tongue, and reading through the answers on my dosha questionnaire, she told me which dosha(s) were predominant in me, what was out of balance and how Ayurveda explains the doshas. She was happy to read my “life story”, and in fact seemed to appreciate the detail as it gave her a good snapshot of me. At no point did I feel rushed. She took the time to explain briefly but clearly how Ayurveda approaches healing and medicine and how it differs from but can include a western medicine approach. It is a very comprehensive but elegantly simple “common sense” approach for healing and really how to live in balance. Her knowledge of and education in both modalities is clear and very helpful. Dr. Shah was able to form a very good picture of me and what was going wrong and what had started it all. She had a systematic approach for our master wellness plan that she communicated very clearly and it made so much sense to me. '

Your diagnosis (diagnoses):
Chronic gut issues, menopausal symptoms including mood swings, irritability, poor sleep, bloating, water retention and more; fatigue, loss of weight

A brief history of your illness(es) along with duration and all you had tried before seeing Shah:
I suffered from constipation mainly as a child. As I grew older, and within the last 15 years especially, digestion and gut issues went from IBS to mainly diarrhea and a medical diagnosis of microscopic colitis. At the onset of menopause, all my symptoms grew worse and many more appeared, mainly due to a lot of inflammation, and long term lack of absorption of nutrients. I sought western medicine, naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, and a functional MD to find answers and relief. I wanted to take a holistic approach and try to get to the root of the problems. All provided some answers and measures of help and relief but nothing really stuck or fully helped me.

Main symptoms you were experiencing:
Diarrhea, gas and bloating, water retention, headaches, insomnia, night sweats, skin breakouts, and high irritability.

Describe your experience with Shah, Doctor of Ayurveda, in your own words (add more pages if needed):

Dr. Shah was able to form a very good picture of me and what was going wrong and what had started it all. She had a systematic approach for our master wellness plan that she communicated very clearly and it made so much sense to me. For me, she explained that my gut has been an issue for basically my whole life and that no amount of medicines or completely healthy diet will work or help to any great extent until some healing and repair can be brought about. Also, that my habit and lifelong propensity toward fitness, exercise, extreme exercise was driving a lot of imbalance. Instead of so much exercise at this point in my life, cultivating other activities that bring me joy and stress relief would be very helpful. I loved her analogy of likening the situation to one’s arm getting punched over and over again...eventually there will be a lot of swelling and inflammation, possibly loss of function.

Summary of the key benefits you have experienced (you can share in a bulleted form if you like):
Within 4 weeks of starting the Ayurvedic protocol, I have experienced:
● Improvement in bowel movements and stool formation, less constipation and more formed
● Reduction in water retention and swelling (Lymph wellness tea, Dr. Shah’s formulation)
● Improved mood overall and a willingness to back off of intense overdoing it with exercise
● A connection with myself, enough to slow down and have a more balanced approach to food and life in general

What are a few things that you think characterize a consultation with Shah?
A consultation with Dr. Shah will give a thorough, clear picture of one’s state of health and the factors likely causing an imbalance. If one has some or even very little knowledge of Ayurveda, she will give an elegant, simple, and easy to understand synopsis of how Ayurveda works and the approach that will be taken. One’s physical and emotional/mental well-being and issues will be addressed as well as lifestyle and nutrition. If appropriate, some herbal formulations will be advised. All will be explained and written out in a clear master wellness plan, with an emphasis on taking time with this approach, not having to be perfect about it, and letting it unfold at its own pace. She offers plenty of support and advises reaching out with any questions or issues in between follow up consults.

Would you recommend Shah to a friend? Why?
Yes, most definitely! She has a very calm and reassuring yet bolstering effect. Her confidence and ease of explanation came across to me in a way that just resonated. She is respectful of where one is at in their journey to health, and gives many analogies to a situation one might be dealing with to help one understand and maybe grasp on a deeper level what is going on. It helps me to think along those lines and bring greater awareness to what I’m doing or not doing without feeling judgmental about it in a negative way. For me, as I’ve been researching and trying to find healing for issues for a long time, Dr. Shah has been the teacher that appeared as I, the student, was ready.

Tiffany Vaughn (MA, USA) - IBS and Menopausal syndrome

"My experience with Doctor Shah has been wonderful from the start. From the first time I called her, desperate to find some relief from ongoing symptoms related to Graves Disease and hormonal imbalance. Dr Shah met my call with a warm voice and offered that she might be able to help. After our first “official” phone consultation, she mailed me an herbal protocol of teas and herbs to add to my new diet (all easy to take and the modified diet, easy to follow) Within a few weeks on the protocol, I started to feel better! My heart rate slowed, my hand tremors ceased, my stools were more normal than they had been in years and my anxiety was diminishing."

Your diagnosis (diagnoses): Graves Disease, IBS, Gastritis, Raynauds Syndrome, PMDD

A brief history of your illness(es) along with duration and all you had tried before seeing Shah:

I struggled with PMDD since my very first period at the age of 16. I have also suffered digestive woes since childhood. In 2013, I was diagnosed with both IBS D and Gastritis. For many years, I have had diarrhea and stomach discomfort, coupled with lots of acidity. My most pressing illness since my diagnosis in 2017 is Graves’ Disease. I was working with an endocrinologist until recently. She insisted on me having my thyroid removed, which is something I would never do--take away the master gland to cause another disease (hypothyroidism) no thank you! I was taking methimazole and it started to damage my liver and my endocrinologist said to stop taking it for a while and resume in a few months, again, I say, no thank you. At this point, I knew I needed to  seek alternative therapies. My fiance suggested Ayurvedic and it immediately resonated with me. After a quick search, I  came across Dr Shah. Although some of the other practitioners seemed like they’d be good, something inside me said, Dr Shah is the one and I know I chose well, because I haven’t felt this good in many years!

Main symptoms you were experiencing: Mainly Graves symptoms-rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, anxiety, pain in neck, hand tremors, loose stools, insomnia.

Dr Shah is always an email away and is on top of replenishing the herbs as soon as they are low. During phone follow ups, she asks all the right questions and listens to my needs. I am forever grateful to have found her (on an internet search for Ayurvedic practitioners) and I am confident that my health will continue to improve under her care. In all honesty, I’ve never felt better.

Summarize the key benefits you have experienced (you can share in a bulleted form if you like):
- Restful nights
- Increased hormonal balance
- Solid Stools
- Stomach comfort
- Steady hands
- Increased blood flow in my limbs, hands and feet
- Feelings of calm
- Decreased anxiety
- Increased appetite
- Cessation of neck pain (in thyroid area)
- Significantly reduced tremors and palpitations

What are a few things that you think characterize a consult with Shah?
* Insight
* knowledge about body type and specific needs of body
*Understanding more about achieving a life balance through diet, meditation, harmonious relationships, letting go of judgements, being open and receptive.
*Empowerment! Dr Shah reminded me that I am in control of my health. An important fact that I let myself forget--somewhere in the course of feeling unwell.

Would you recommend Shah to a friend? Why?

Absolutely, yes!!! She’s a true healer. In a matter of weeks, it feels as though all of my previous ills have taken the backseat, and some issues, I am not feeling anymore. An important thing I should note, is that I made Dr Shahs’ recommendations a priority. I took the herbs as directed (I missed doses here and there--but it was rare) I am and have been very serious about regaining my health. I continue my regimen and will not stop.

Kiki Brien, Grave's disease

I have been with Dr. Shah for the longest time and it has worked perfectly for both my mental and physical health.

She does not just prescribe the herbs but also takes the effort to explain the importance behind it along with some interesting trivia about the Ayurvedic way of living. Her tips were incorporated into my routine, seamlessly, and that is how I met the best version of my health.

I lost all the weight, became fitter, my skin has been clear for the longest time, and my digestion has improved significantly.

My food intolerances are also, somewhat, in check. for example, I really love yogurt, but it does not suit me. Dr. Shah shared a particularly useful hack and now I can consume yogurt without running to the loo or bloating up like a hot air balloon.

The most impressive part is Dr. Shah’s approach to food intake. She does not spoon-feed you. She helps you understand your body type and then educates you on the food items you can consume in abundance, moderately, and rarely. This way we are not dependent on a diet chart that keeps us in a box, rather we understand the principles and are able to apply them correctly.

Your diagnosis (diagnoses): Autoimmune Disorder which affects the hemoglobin levels in my body.

A brief history of your illness(es) along with duration and all you had tried before seeing Shah:

I have an autoimmune disorder, it is hereditary. What happens: hemoglobin levels drop significantly, which leads to severe fatigue and inability to function properly on a day-to-day basis.

Before consulting Dr. Shah, I was on a high dosage of steroids, which came with significant side effects.

The side effects I faced: 1) weight gain 2) severe digestive issues 3) acne 4) skin abnormalities 5) food intolerances 5) bloating 6) deterioration in mental health

I turned to Ayurveda for some respite and was pleasantly surprised by how well my health has been on track and the symptoms are nowhere to be seen.

Main symptoms you were experiencing:

Extreme Fatigue

Nausea

Paleness of skin

Inability to perform day to day tasks

Severe Acne

Weak metabolism

Weight gain

Describe your experience with Shah, Doctor of Ayurveda, in your own words (add more pages if needed):

The most endearing quality of Dr. Shah is her promptness. Despite being overwhelmed with work, she is always available and gives you such personal attention.

I did face a few availability issues when it came to finding Ayurveda medication in the Middle East, Dr. Shah suggested home remedies to a few of my ailments and it definitely worked like a charm.

Shikha Ashutosh Sinha (Fahaheel, Kuwait) - Autoimmune disease

Ayurveda with Dr. Shah about a month ago, and we followed her diet plan completely, and I started taking the Ayurveda herbs that she prescribed, along with my allopathy medications, and I have never realized what a tremendous, debilitating impact that migraines and tension headaches truly had on my health and mental wellbeing. For the first time in a year and a half, I have had days where my head doesn’t feel clouded and overwhelmed, and that is amazing progress in such a short time!
