My diagnosis came as surprise as I am young (in my 30s) and no one in my family has history of RA. Dr. Shah told me I most likely have RA even BEFORE I went to my Primary care doctor. My PCP and then the Rheumatologist confirmed the diagnosis eventually, with a blood test. I was having some on and off, often debilitating wrist pain for one month. Initially I thought it might be sprain or strain because it was only in one wrist and then in second, but one night I woke up with excruciating shoulder pain and contacted Dr. Shah. Immediately she started me on an herbal formulation and gave me food tips of what to eat and what to avoid. She also recommended that I get examined by my PCP and a Rheumatologist. The Rheumatologist wanted to start me on Methotrexate, but I read about the drug's side effects and was scared. By that time, I was already experiencing complete relief with the Ayurveda protocol. Dr. Shah suggested that since I was experiencing relief already, I could continue to follow the Ayurveda protocol and food guidelines and keep the Methotrexate and the pain killer as stand by, in case of a flare up.
Your diagnosis (diagnoses): Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
A brief history of your illness(es) along with duration and all you had tried before seeing Shah:

Main symptoms you were experiencing:
Pain and stiffness in both the wrists and occasionally shoulder, pain being debilitating at times.
Describe your experience with Shah, Doctor of Ayurveda, in your own words (add more pages if needed):
Magic. As far as I read about Rheumatoid arthritis, people who suffers from the disease are only able to control the disease by increasing the drug dosages, which I do not want to. With proper food guidelines and natural remedies suggested by Dr. Shah, I am able to manage my symptoms very well.
Summary of the key benefits you have experienced (you can share in a bulleted form if you like):
Flare ups of symptoms stopped after starting Ayurveda herbs and food guidelines suggested by Dr. Shah. In fact, I am experiencing an overall wellbeing, which I did not feel before.
What are a few things that you think characterize a consult with Shah?
Mental peace because as soon as I came to know about my disease, was very scared and I know there is no cure for rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Shah took time to reassure me, helped me shift my focus from fear to confidence and guided me to take charge of my own wellbeing. She is empathetic and compassionate in her approach. I trust her immensely and am feeling fortunate to have found her at the right time.
Would you recommend Shah to a friend? Why?
Yes, already did to so many. Because in allopathy, you can only get medication for the disease, not solution of your disease.
